Doh! Putting mistaks into perspective
Nobody’s perfect! Mistakes happen, it’s how you grow from them that counts.

Did you catch the typo in the subject line? Since it’s on purpose to make a point, it’s not really a mistake. But here’s the thing, we’re all going to make mistakes in our lives and careers. That’s part of being human. This week’s guest Adam Barth tells us about advice he got early in his career: you’re going to make mistakes, just try not to make them expensive ones. Adam and Paul talk about their own bumps in the road and how they bounced back in an open and honest discussion about learning from your mistakes.
California native Adam Barth started his career as a tour bus driver in Fairbanks, Alaska (brrrr)! Eventually he moved from the private to the public side of transportation and eventually back to his (warmer) hometown of Modesto, California to run the county transit system there. Today he’s leading the newly created Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority which combined the city and county transit systems into a single agency.
Join Adam and Paul for this thoughtful discussion on leadership and growing your ridership by stepping into their shoes.
Warm up with a tour of Phoenix!
Did you know Valley Metro gets enough power from an array of solar panels to meet its entire day-time energy needs? Even the roofs in parking lots have solar panels on them! Talk about tapping your natural resources!
Learn about this and more in this month’s episode of Transit Unplugged TV featuring Phoenix, Arizona.
