TRANSIT UNPLUGGED TV HONORED WITH 2024 COMMUNICATOR AWARD

Recognized Alongside Disney, PBS, and Netflix for Creative Excellence

New York, NY (May 7, 2024) – Transit Unplugged TV has been recognized with a 2024 Communicator Award from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). Hosted by transit evangelist and Modaxo SVP Paul Comfort, Transit Unplugged TV is a travel show featuring the best in people transportation around the globe. Episodes have covered transport systems far and wide, including Valley Metro (Phoenix), Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, CapMetro (Austin), Edmonton (Alberta), Singapore Land Transport Authority, Transport for London, MetroLink (Tulsa), Sao Paolo (Brazil), Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (Spain), and more.

For the 30th Annual Communicator Awards, Transit Unplugged TV was honored with an Award of Distinction in the Film & Video category for Travel & Tourism. The program is created by producer and host Paul Comfort, Director Jaime Cuadra, and Executive Producer Julie Gates. New episodes drop monthly on YouTube @TransitUnplugged.

“This award really goes to the outstanding people working in the people transportation industry,” said Transit Unplugged TV host Paul Comfort. “It is an honor to tell the stories of the hard work taking place in public transport every day. These people are our heroes, and we look forward to continuing to shine a light on how they improve our communities.”

With over 3,000 entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.

“The entries into this season of The Communicator Awards were such a great representation of our three decades celebrating innovation and creativity in all forms of communication. I couldn’t have wished for a more diverse and brilliant body of work to be placed in our jurors’ capable hands,” said AIVA Managing Director Lauren Angeloni.

The award-winning Transit Unplugged TV episode features a two-day excursion on the Rocky Mountaineer train through the Canadian Rockies. The newest program releases on May 9th and will feature a multi-agency look at transit across South Florida, covering South Florida Transportation Authority, Tri-Rail, Brightline, Monroe County Transit, Broward County Transit, and Miami-Dade County.
